Barton Springs – USA
This beautiful natural pool as actually used by the Tonkawa Native American tribe for purification ceremonies. Located in Austin, TX, it covers more than three acres and maintains a temperature of around 68 degrees.
Laguna Dudu – Dominican Republic
Located near the town of Cabrera in the northeastern Dominican Republic, this pristine blue water also has underwater caves making it a dream destination for diving enthusiasts. Laguna Dudu is a cenote, or sinkhole, and while some say the depth is 107 feet, others suggest the bottom has yet to be determined.
Devil’s Pool – Zambia
Caused by thousands of years of erosion, many rock pools have formed on the Zambian side of Victoria Falls. Between mid August and mid January it is possible for adventurous bathers to swim on the lip of the falls in the appropriately named the Devil’s Pool. Would you be brave enough?
