Boise homeowners understand the importance of pool cover safety. There are new developments with pool cover safety regularly so keeping on top of the topic is important. In this article, we are going to talk more about your pool cover and how you can make your pool safe.

Pool Cover Safety – What You Need to Know

When you are trying to find the right cover for your pool, you need to know that every pool does not need the same cover. This is why you need to think about your cover and see which one is going to work best for you.

There are pool covers that are not safety covers and you can use those, but they are not going to give you the best results. If you have a non-safety cover you may get some of the benefits, but you will not be able to keep kids or animals out of your pool if they accidentally find their way over to it. Finding a good safety pool cover will enable you to feel safe and confident when you are not watching over your pool.

One of the developments of the pool cover is that instead of only having the choice of a mesh or solid safety cover, you now have a third option which is a hybrid. It combines features of mesh and solid covers. Look at the different options you have and you will be able to see which ones are going to work for you best.

The Mesh Pool Cover

The mesh pool cover is one of the more affordable options and with proper care, it can last 15 years or more. When it comes to being manageable these lightweights are a great option. Even though they are light, they can still support thousands of pounds.

Mesh covers are designed to prevent water from collecting on top of the cover. Mesh allows rain and melted snow to drain into your pool. The mesh is woven tightly to keep debris out and allowing it to settle on the top. This lets the rain come through but keeps the debris from littering your pool. Some mesh covers resist the sun’s UV rays and others block as much as 99% of sunlight.

The Solid Pool Cover

This cover will keep anything and everything out of your pool. Since nothing (including water) is able to get through your solid cover, you are going to have to get a pump to pump water off the top of the cover.

The Hybrid Pool Cover

Having a hybrid cover is going to allow you to get the benefits of a solid cover but you won’t have to pump the water off the top because it also gives you the benefits of having a mesh cover. There is a row of mesh panels in the middle that allows for water to get into the pool while still keeping everyone safe and keeping debris out of the pool.
