What causes low pH in pool?

There are a number of things that can cause low pH in pool water, including:

-Excess chlorine: When chlorine is added to water, it naturally lowers the pH. This is because chlorine is an acidic chemical.

-Acidic rain: If your pool is outdoors, then rainwater can lower the pH of your pool water. This is because rainwater is naturally acidic.

-Leaving pool toys or other objects in the pool: Over time, these objects can release chemicals into the water that can lower the pH.

-Not enough alkalinity in the water: Alkalinity helps to balance out the pH of the water and keep the pH stable. If there isn’t enough alkalinity in the water, then the pH can become unbalanced and start to drop.
