Is a Green Pool for St. Patrick’s Day a Good Idea?

While you may have been thinking about having a green pool for St. Patrick’s day, it may not be the best idea for your pool. If you want your pool to look like the Chicago River on St. Patrick’s day, you shouldn’t dye your pool. While there may be pool dye, it doesn’t always work out great for your pool.

If you are set on a green pool for the holiday, you can still have it but without the pool dye. The best way to do this is with LED lights. This is a simple way to do it and there is no clean up after you are done with the green in the pool.

March 17th wasn’t always about the green. The original color of St Patrick’s day was blue but soon it was changed to green because of the Irish landscapes, flag and of course, the color of the shamrock. When you want to have a green pool, you want to do it the right way and not from algae and moss. Make sure to keep your pool clean so the green is a welcome happening and not a nuisance.

Additions to Your Green Pool

If you’ve got your green LED lights, what can you do to make your St. Patrick’s day pool party even more special? There are plenty of things you can add to your pool party to increase the level of festivity at your pool party.

#1 – Floating Green Lights

Having floating green lights in your pool is a fun way to add to the good times at the pool party. If you can’t find any green lights, you can get some green pool noodles and cut them out so you will be able to put some artificial candles in them and allow them to float around the green pool.

#2 – Green Table & Chairs

If you don’t have a green table and chairs, you can get green covers for them. You don’t have to go over the top. There are some simple covers you can put on that are disposable. This is a good way to protect your table and chairs from any spills as well.

#3 – Green Drinks & Food

You can put green food dye in almost anything for a fun time. Try putting green food dye in vanilla cupcakes or even finger sandwiches.
