Clean the cartridge filter every 4 months or if the pressure rises above 10lbs psi over the average pressure. Monitor regularly as the pump and filter should run daily for at least six hours during the summer.
Pump Basket Maintenance
Check the pump basket weekly, especially if you notice reduced water flow or more debris in the pool than usual. Your pool installer can demonstrate how to read the filter pressure gauge to determine the right cleaning times.
Automatic Pool Cleaner Care
If using an automatic pool cleaner, check it weekly or bi-weekly to ensure it's free of debris. Manual brushing of the pool helps extend plaster life and reduces the need for chemical treatment.
Water Level Monitoring
Assess water levels weekly during general cleaning. Water should reach halfway up the tile or three inches below the top of the tile line. Maintain water level halfway up the skimmer's throat for proper skimming.
Chlorine Maintenance
Chlorine is crucial for water clarity and health. Adjust levels if the pool appears cloudy or green. Shock the pool with high chlorine levels if necessary, ensuring chemicals return to normal levels before swimming. Regular maintenance ensures your pool is always ready for use.
