The nation’s largest pool builder, Premier Pools and Spas, welcomes new franchisee in Orange County, filling the last open franchise territory in Southern California.

Premier Franchise Management (PFM), franchisor of Premier Pools and Spas, announces the opening of a new franchise location in Orange County, CA. With franchises in San Diego, Temecula, Palm Springs, Santa Clarita and Temecula, the Orange County location completes the coverage of Premier Pools & Spas franchise territories in Southern California.
Paul Porter, CEO of PFM, has long recognized that the Orange County territory had one of the best pool building markets in the country. “We have done extensive research on this area and determined that although the demographics for our business were great, no pool builder has been able to dominate the market,” said Porter. “We saw this as an excellent opportunity for expansion, especially with the successes of our franchisees in the surrounding territories, but were waiting for the right person to maximize this opportunity.”
Reed Hartzog was just that person. Having run a successful pool service company in Orange County, he then went to Houston, TX and opened Reed’s Pool Service. After growing this business for several years and learning pool construction, Hartzog expanded his offerings to new pool construction and pool remodeling. When approached by a friend to assist in restructuring his pool building company, Waterscapes Custom Pools, Inc. in Orange County, Hartzog jumped at the chance.
“My wife and I have always wanted to move back to California and this was a great opportunity to immerse myself in the more intricate aspects of pool building” said Hartzog. “Most pool builders in the OC focus on getting the high-end pool projects. I recognized that there were very few pool builders servicing customers in the $30,000 – $75,000 pool price range. Premier Franchise Management makes it a possible for me to reach those customers because of their massive buying power and their ability to negotiate lower materials costs.”
Hartzog added, “When I was building pools in Houston, there were so many times that I got to see what elite pool builders Premier Pools & Spas were. From competing against them on bids to hearing from their customers after the projects were completed, the customers always had great things to say about them. I knew that I wanted to be part of this team.”
