Gunite is the structural part of your swimming pool. It’s pneumatically applied concrete, which means it’s shot out of big concrete guns (it’s super fun to watch!). Gunite is the trade term for a dry-mix process (shotcrete is the wet application).
Stronger than regular concrete, gunite is the preferred material of most pool builders, since the impact of the material adds to the strength of the pool shell.
