Phoenix, Arizona is known for a lot of things, the two main ones probably being the spectacular landscape and the sweltering heat. This is why Phoenix pools are always a welcome sight for residents and visitors alike. Hotels in the area have caught on to the need for aquatic recreation and so some of them have actually created improvised water parks in their courtyards. Tourism is one of the top three industries in Phoenix, comparable only to the high-tech manufacturing industry and the construction industry. Also, since tourism is one of the oldest industries in Phoenix; and also one of the few that has remained relatively consistent over the years, it’s no wonder why so many grand hotels make their home in this wonderful city. Let’s take a look at a few of the best Phoenix pools!
Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort
We’re starting off this list strong with the Hyatt Regency in Scottsdale. This classy hotel comes with its own veritable water park that covers almost 3 acres. This aquatic playground includes: 10 swimming pools, over 40 waterfalls, 20 fountains, a high speed water slide that is three stories tall, and a sand beach. Guests can participate in activities like dive-in movies, water volleyball, water basketball, water ping-pong, and even Wii games on the big screen. This fun aquatic playground at the Hyatt Regency is a perfect place for families that have kids — everyone, both young and old, will be begging to stay just bit longer!
The Phoenician
The already gorgeous pool area at the Phoenician was recently renovated to look even more beautiful. Forget being one of the most gorgeous Phoenix pools, this is probably one of the most elegant hotel pols that we’ve ever seen. The centerpiece pool is in fact decorated with lustrous mother of pearl tiles, which are actually hand-crafted; and every single one of the other eight interlocking pools is exceptional in its own way. Kids even have two whole pools all to themselves, one of which is accompanied by a water slide that is over 160 feet tall. The pool area at the Phoenician is truly first class, we only have one problem: Where’s the awesome water slide for us adults?
JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort
With over four acres of space to work with, the pool area at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort is a water park all to itself. While the four lavish interlocking pools are the backbone of this aquatic area, they aren’t even the main attractions. The water slide is great for guests who want to get their adrenaline pumping, while the lazy river is great for patrons that want to kick back and relax. The Sidewinder pool is where most of the activities take place; such as dive-in movies, water basketball, and more. Kids can also enjoy spending time I the nearby Nickelodeon Activity Zone.
