If you ask most pool experts which of the pool sweeps are the best for you and your Miami swimming pool, you would see that they say pressure side over suction side any day. If you are new to being a pool owner or aren’t familiar with the jargon, that probably doesn’t mean a lot to you. In this article, we are going to explain what we mean and why many pool experts go toward pressure side pool sweeps over suction side pool sweeps.

Pool Sweeps – What Are the Differences?
When you look at the pressure side pool sweeps, they push water to the cleaner which moves it along the pool floor and sometimes up the pool walls. The debris then goes into the catch bag. This pool sweep has a “tail” the trails behind and keeps moving along and keeping the dirt from settling on the bottom of the pool as well. It actually helps to get the debris moving about so they can get sucked up by the filtration system.
If you are looking at the suction side pool sweeps, they do not have a tail and if you keep using them over time versus using a pressure side pool sweep, you will notice the difference in your plaster in about five years. Just because of the difference in price, it does not mean that you are saving money going with the suction side pool sweeps.
When you look at the suction side pool sweeps, you are going to have a major pain. If debris that is too large goes up into the “throat” of the pool sweep, it will stop and not work until you clean it out. If you had the pressure side pool sweep, you wouldn’t have to worry about cleaning out any “throats.”
As you can tell, the only upside to having a suction side pool sweep is that it is less expensive than a pressure side pool sweep. In the long run, it is going to cost you more money than you saved because of service costs and having to fix your pool.
Keeping Your Pool Beautiful

You’ve spent time designing your pool, getting it put into place and already have gone through all of the “labor pains” and now you need to make sure that you take care of the baby. Once the pool is here, it does not mean that time to take care of it is over. Now it means that you need to have regular maintenance on it so that you can keep it beautiful instead of letting it rot away after all of the hard work putting it all together.
When you want to keep your pool clean, you need to make sure that you are cleaning it at least two times per week. You can get the help from pool sweeps, but you need to put it on your calendar to make sure it is getting done. Alternatively, you can hire a professional to take care of the maintenance and then you’re only responsibility is enjoying your swimming pool!
