How Long Does It Take to Build a Pool?

Pools can take weeks or months to build, depending on the scale and scope of the project. If youโ€™re building a complex pool with unique landscaping and numerous features (lighting, rock walls, etc.), itโ€™s going to take longer than a simple rectangle with no features. Here are a few other factors that can determine how long it takes to build your pool:

  • Access โ€“ getting the big machines into your backyard. Weโ€™ve had to take down fences and move sheds just to get our equipment into yards. Any time spent doing that adds to the overall construction timeline.
  • Weather โ€“ of course, we cannot control weather conditions. Some conditions, such as snow and rain, can delay your pool project.
  • Time of year โ€“ before you get started on a design, talk with your builder about the best time of year in your area. It might not always be the spring.

A typical backyard gunite pool with proper curing should take about 60 days to complete.
