How long does it take to build a pool?

Pools can take weeks or months to build, depending on the scale and scope of the project. If you’re building a complex pool with unique landscaping and numerous features (lighting, rock walls, etc.), it’s going to take longer than a simple rectangle with no features. Here are a few other factors that can determine how long it takes to build your pool:

  • Access – getting the big machines into your backyard. We’ve had to take down fences and move sheds just to get our equipment into yards. Any time spent doing that adds to the overall construction timeline.
  • Weather – of course, we cannot control weather conditions. Some conditions, such as snow and rain, can delay your pool project.
  • Time of year – before you get started on a design, talk with your builder about the best time of year in your area. It might not always be the spring.

A typical backyard gunite pool with proper curing should take about 60 days to complete.
