Pool Cover and Pool Maintenance Checklist

So, your pool cover is in place and you are taking stock of the necessary pool maintenance. Maybe you are getting a little stressed out because you love your pool so much and you don’t want to do anything wrong. Don’t worry, it’s not as big of a deal as you might think. You are going to be totally fine. Here are some simple things to remember when it comes to your pool cover and pool maintenance.

1 – Make sure you keep all water off of your pool cover. You can get a pool cover pump and remove the water right away. These pumps are easy to use and lightweight, so don’t worry that it is going to be a big problem.

2 – Remove dirt and debris from your pool cover. While the pool cover is very durable, you need to make sure that you keep all dirt and debris off. You can do that by using a soft pool brush or a normal broom.

3 – When you are treating the pool, make sure to leave the pool cover off for at least 2 hours after you’ve finished your pool maintenance. Make sure to keep pets and children away from the pool whenever the cover is open.

4 – Retract the cover once a week so that you can make sure there are no built up gases inside of your pool from the chemicals that you use to treat it.

5 – Keep an eye on the fabric of the pool cover when you go out to take a look. You want to make sure nothing ripped or frayed it. If you see it is worn, you want to replace it as soon as possible.

The aforementioned points are very important when it comes to your pool maintenance so make sure that you pay close attention and to these points so that you can keep your pool safe and sound and make sure it will be ready for next swimming season.
