Pool Design Inspiration – The Before & AftersAs you can see in the first photo, the backyard was showing some age and the deck was less than exciting when you laid eyes on it. The space needed an update and in this case, it was easy enough to renovate the existing pool instead of starting from the beginning. All that had to be done was adding a perimeter overflow spa along with a stone diving platform with planets and waterfalls by it. The pool appears more natural with the black interior as well. This pool was not attractive or able to function well with children so the owners asked for a beautiful and safe place for play. There was no need to get rid of the pool but a second elevated pool was added to overlap the old one. The upper pool is shallow and works well with children and the lower pool is deep and has a waterslide. The oversized granite pavers made this pool look complete. While you might take one look at the before picture and say that the pool should be torn out, as you can see, new life was brought to the pool. The surrounding tile and concrete were demolished and replaced with cantilevered limestone steps. It appears to be floating above the space and to top off the look, drought-tolerant plants were added.
